Respect in Sport Information |
RiS CERTIFICATION - 5 YEAR EXPIRYRespect in Sport (RiS) is a tool designed to assist leaders to identify and respond to abuse, neglect, harassment, and bullying. This program not only protects players but also prepares and educates the leaders associated. Currently, RiS is a mandatory training program for all registered Coaches and Team Personnel of Provincial Sport Governing Bodies in Saskatchewan. This year RiS announced a 5 year expiry date for all RiS certifications province wide.In our continued effort to stay up to date and aligned with our partnership programs. The Saskatchewan Soccer Association will also require that all coaches and team personal maintain an up to date RiS certified status. As such, anyone who has completed the RiS training in 2013 or earlier will now be required to re-certify prior to the start of the indoor and outdoor season.
HOW DO I RE-CERTIFY?Coaches and Team Personnel whose certification has expired will or may already have received an email notification from RiS notifying them of the expiry. If you are not sure or didn't receive an email notification we recommend that you login to your RiS account by visitinghttps://sasksrc.respectgroupinc.com/
REMINDERSCoaches and Team Personnel who are currently active and have not yet completed their RiS Training need to be aware that they are not eligible to be involved with any team until they complete their RiS. Subject to fines and discipline, Member Organizations are responsible to suspend participation of coaches or team personnel until they complete RiS.It is encouraged that individual coaches 'transfer' their Respect in Sport Training into the NCCP Transcript at the time of re-certification, for easier record-keeping.*The 5 year expiry is only in affect for activity leaders (Coaches or Team Personnel), it is not required for the Respect in Sport Parent Program. |
